CEiH presents the results of the study What do companies talk about in their sustainability reports?

Thomas Gonzalez-Cruz, director of the Chair of Business and Humanism, has presented the results of the study 'What do companies talk about in their sustainability reports?', during the presentation day of the platform of the Sustainability and Transparency Observatory (OBSET). 

Through this tool, we aim to provide SMEs with high-quality, up-to-date information to address the processes that enable them to make the principles of sustainability and transparency truly strategic pillars of their businesses. "The OBSET project is advancing its objectives with this new tool, which is 100% accessible to any company," he commented. During the day emphasis was placed on the development of Sustainability Reports either Non-financial information statement, document in which the most significant impacts of a company must be presented from the economic, social and environmental point of view and which has been the main axis of the study 'What do companies talk about in their sustainability reports?', carried out by the CEiH and financed by the Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Labor, by granting aid to promote a sustainable economy.

"SMEs need to be encouraged to look at Sustainability Reports beyond mere compliance with regulations, to establish sustainability and transparency as a true strategic pillar that provides real value to the brand," Tomás commented during his presentation. 

For his part, the Economic Promotion Coordinator of the Paterna City Council, José Maria Martínez Santamaría, has detailed the different applications of Obset.esThe implementation of the SDGs and the UN Global Compact within the company and the transition from a linear economic model to a circular economy. Furthermore, he urged going beyond the company itself, choosing suppliers that also apply sustainability criteria.
