On May 21st, the Faculty of Economics of the University of Valencia hosted a meeting between representatives of the Chairs of Economy for the Common Good (EBC) and Business and Humanism (CEiH) of the University of Valencia and members of the Spanish Federation of Economy for the Common Good, to discuss issues of education and future collaboration.
During the meeting it was proposed that the University of Valencia and the Valencian Association for the Promotion of the Economy of the Common Good (AVEBC), to seek new sponsors. The importance of presenting proposals for content and activities to attract funding was stressed. The positive relationship with the Vice-Rectorate for Sustainability and the external projection of the Cátedra de Empresa y Humanismo.
In academic terms, the creation of postgraduate courses in collaboration with the Economy of the Common Good was supported, with a possible accreditation from the IF ECG. The CEIH presented the platform "Report for Good" to help SMEs with impact reporting, aligning with European regulations.
Jaime Güemes and Tomás González attended on behalf of the UV chairs, Chelo Cebrián, president of the Valencian Association for the Promotion of the Economy of the Common Good, Luciana Cornaglia, President of EBC Argentina, Paco Álvarez, President of the Spanish Federation of the Economy of the Common Good, and José Carlos Ramos, from the EBC, academic at the Open University of Catalonia.
"The EBC offers a model of cultural and socioeconomic transformation," explained Luciana Cornaglia. On the other hand, Paco Álvarez reinforced this idea, "differentiating it from other certifications such as B Corp." José Carlos Ramos presented the academic and scientific community of S&R Hub on LinkedIn, used to foster research collaboration. He also introduced the Network of Universities Promoting Education and Research on the Economy of the Common Good (RUPEI), which seeks to integrate CBE into curricula and academic activities. The Erasmus+ project to translate the training curriculum into Spanish and English by the end of 2024 was mentioned.
The proposals were to promote the S&R ECG online community, to join the chairs to the RUPEI, to collaborate with municipalities for sustainability projects and to prepare proposals for potential sponsors. Finally, the invitation was given to learn about the Impact Plan project that will be presented at the III International ECG Conference in the Netherlands in June.
