The Jaume I University from Castellón has organized the 1st Conference on "Due Diligence in Sustainability and its Impacts from a Legal and Business Perspective" in the Boardroom of the Faculty of Law and Economics. In a hybrid format, these sessions have addressed the legal perspective in due diligence, the business perspective and value chains, and the Registry of Socially Responsible Entities (REVSR), all in round table format. The Conference was coordinated by Maria Angeles Fernandez Izquierdo, Professor of Financial Economics and Accounting and María Chiara Marullo, Associate Professor of Private International Law, both members of the SoGReS-MF Research Group.
The Director of the Chair of Business and Humanism, Thomas Gonzalez Cruz, has been part of the round table that has explored the benefits of the REVSR, together with Maria Angeles Fernandez Izquierdo; Josefina Boquera Marrades, Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Valencia and President of the REVSR Joint Committee; and Carlos Javier Orts Calabuig, Dean of the College of Property, Commercial and Movable Property Registrars of the Valencian Community. The panel was moderated by María Chiara Marullo.
In his speech, Professor González Cruz emphasized the pioneering character of the REVSR and in the job and professional development opportunities that sustainability opens up in the business world. He also encouraged attendees to actively participate in the configuration of the new paradigm for sustainability information disclosure, while at the same time it has listed a series of challenges futures that the Chair is addressing to contribute to the effective improvement of non-financial information disclosure processes.
