The Chair was established as an initiative of the Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Labor, and the University of Valencia.
From the outset, a triple helix approach was developed, seeking interaction between public administration, the business world and the educational community.
In this sense, the Chair aims to be a meeting point, a forum for dialogue, reflection, creation and dissemination of useful knowledge for the business community in our area and for public managers who develop policies to promote the competitiveness of the economy of the CV.
In the first phase, spanning the years 2017 to 2019, the CEiH focuses its efforts on the creation and dissemination of knowledge around two key themes:
Creating social value as a measure of business performance Sustainable and accessible finance
Within these two lines, manuals and workbooks are published, and dissemination and training programs are developed for students of various educational levels, managers, business owners, and users of financial services.
Starting in 2019, and at the request of our sponsors, CEiH is refocusing its purpose to focus on two lines of action: the promotion and development of social responsibility and the sustainability of companies and their digital transformation.
Thus, the CEiH supports the Directorate General for Sustainable Economy in the development and implementation of the Register of Socially Responsible Valencian Entities. We have created guides for the implementation of sustainability plans, and developed implementation tools such as a simplified report model, designed for smaller companies. We have also defined a system of indicators that allows us to evaluate performance in terms of social responsibility and sustainability in a rigorous, reliable and homogeneous manner.
In the field of digital transformation, CEiH has launched a periodic study of the state of digital transformation among medium and large companies in the Valencian Community. With this initiative we aim to generate information resources relevant to decision-making by all the interest groups involved: public administrations, business associations, companies and the academic community.
