The Cátedra de Empresa y Humanismo of the University of Valencia, together with TÜV SÜD, a leading company in inspection, testing and certification, have launched the first edition of the Awards for the Best Master's Thesis (TFM) or Bachelor's Thesis (TFG) in Sustainability, carried out by students from the University of Valencia.
The call for applications, open until October 7, is aimed at students in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 academic years. Its purpose is to highlight the importance of sustainability among students, being a fundamental area where training is key to preparing future professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to face current environmental, social and economic challenges, thus driving a significant change towards a sustainable future.
Irene Huguet, Director of TÜV SÜD's Academy business unit, said: "Our commitment includes educating the new generations on the relevance of sustainability in their training and work. The business vision has evolved dramatically, requiring more and more professionals who are experts in this field. We are very pleased to contribute to this project alongside one of the most prestigious universities in the country."
From the University of Valencia, the Vice-Rector for Innovation and Transfer, Rosa Mª Donat Beneito, and the Vice-Rector for Sustainability, Cooperation and Healthy Living, Pilar Serra Añó, stressed the importance of public-private collaboration through the university's network of chairs and the strategic need to promote sustainability within the institution, highlighting its relevance for the entire university community and society in general.
The award will include a scholarship to study TÜV SÜD's Master's Degree in ESG Sustainability and three scholarships to undertake expert training in the area of Sustainability at TÜV SÜD Academy.
