The C\u00e1tedra de Empresa y Humanismo<\/a><\/strong> of the University of Valencia<\/strong> participated this Tuesday, December 13, in the webinar 'Digital workshops for the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility in SMEs'<\/strong>, organized by La Union of Associations of Self-Employed Workers and Entrepreneurs (UATAE)<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was attended by several experts on the subject such as Dr. Tom\u00e1s Gonz\u00e1lez-Cruz, director of the CEiH;<\/strong>\u00a0 Emili Villaescusa Blanca, Head of CSR at the Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy (CEPES); Blanca Rom\u00e1, founder and CEO of TECUM SOCIAL; Francisco Bastida, president of the M\u00e1s RSC Association, among others.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"Corporate responsibility must be sustainable, but above all, social."<\/p>\nTom\u00e1s Gonz\u00e1lez-Cruz, director of the CEiH<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

During his speech, Tom\u00e1s presented the "State of Social Responsibility in Companies Around Us: Regulatory Framework, Challenges, and Recommendations for Beginning Social Responsibility Management," with the main message that "corporate responsibility must be sustainable, but above all, social." <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chair's director explained that the current legal framework covering SR+S defines its contents in a lax manner and with too many elements that confuse companies, especially smaller ones and the self-employed, preventing them from knowing specifically where to start for its implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So then The need to implement an "information model with homogeneous reference criteria, but which emphasizes the particular reality of each company" has become evident.<\/strong>, which would simplify the process in terms of cost and complexity for SMEs and self-employed workers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Thomas has emphasized that "The time to start implementing SR+S is now, as the survival of companies will depend on it."<\/strong>, since in addition to complying with current CSR regulations, it also serves as a means of receiving aid from the Public Administration, as well as access to private financing from entities that are already requiring companies to comply with the SDGs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
