It involves sharing and disseminating information and providing companies, especially SMEs, with the knowledge, methodologies, and tools to incorporate environmental and social sustainability criteria into their management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this second edition of the OBSET awards, recognition has been given to <strong>Saica Group, Caixa Popular, C\u00e1rnicas Serrano, Laboratorios BAB\u00c9, Cabka, Aquaservice - Viva Aqua Service Spain SA and Caba\u00f1ero Ventanas<\/strong> for the valuable contribution they are making to society, generating value in all dimensions of social responsibility and sustainability, serving as a benchmark for other companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the evening, <strong>Isabel Castillo<\/strong>, head of the sustainability office of <strong>Valencia Chamber<\/strong>, collaborator of the Chair and co-director of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.catedradeempresayhumanismo.com\/en\/diploma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Diploma of Specialization in Corporate Social Responsibility \u2013 Sustainability Leaders Program at the University of Valencia<\/a><\/strong>, gave the presentation \ud835\uddd6\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddef\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf1\ud835\uddfc \ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddf9 \ud835\uddfa\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf1\ud835\uddfc \ud835\uddf0\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddfd\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddee \ud835\uddee \ud835\uddf0\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddfd\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddee, during which he emphasized the following aspects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 The purchasing function is crucial for businesses and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 Between 80% and 90% of the impacts are generated in supply chains, so they are part of the problem and also part of the solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 The value chain is a chain of people, hence the importance of generating social value, in addition to economic and environmental value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 The work to transform the business model involves identifying risks and impacts, preventing, mitigating, and communicating them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 Sustainability policies must be integrated into purchasing policies; otherwise, the CSR+S strategy will fail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 The challenges of CSR+S cannot be faced alone; partnerships are required, and collaborative work with suppliers is vital.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.catedradeempresayhumanismo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Obset-II-1.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.catedradeempresayhumanismo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Obset-II-1-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-350\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.catedradeempresayhumanismo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Obset-II-1-1024x682.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.catedradeempresayhumanismo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Obset-II-1-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.catedradeempresayhumanismo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Obset-II-1-768x512.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.catedradeempresayhumanismo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Obset-II-1-1536x1023.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/www.catedradeempresayhumanismo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Obset-II-1.jpeg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><figcaption><em>Isabel Castillo, head of the sustainability office of <strong>Valencia Chamber<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, Isabel emphasized that important actions are being carried out at the legislative level, such as the European Commission Directive on Due Diligence in Supply Chains, published in February of this year, or Decree 118\/2022, of August 5, of the Generalitat Valenciana, which regulates the inclusion of social responsibility clauses in public procurement and in calls for aid and subsidies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The big conclusion of this day is that <strong>The challenges of SR+S are the order of the day for all types of companies, regardless of their size, sector and turnover.<\/strong>While there is an obligation, there is also a conviction, and any company can work toward sustainable development in accordance with its own capabilities.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OBSET is an initiative of the Paterna Technology Park Management and Modernization Entity and Paterna Business City that aims to motivate companies to take on a greater commitment to addressing economic, social, and environmental problems, thereby increasing their social responsibility and commitment to sustainability.
