On Tuesday, June 11, we celebrate the 1st Meeting of Socially Responsible Valencian Entities<\/strong> in the Joan Pla\u00e7a Auditorium, in the Botanical Garden of the University of Valencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this meeting, organized by C\u00e1tedra de Empresa y Humanismo and convened by the Ministry of Finance, Economy and Public Administration, we wanted to recognize the achievement of the entities registered in the Registry of Socially Responsible Valencian Entities -REVSR-, which aims to be a system that helps entities evaluate their performance in terms of sustainability and communicate their commitment to it, from an accessible, proportional and rigorous platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, it served to renew the GVA's commitment to promoting sustainability and supporting the entire associative, business, and institutional network of the Valencian Community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was opened by Ms. Pilar Serra A\u00f1\u00f3, Vice-Rector for Sustainability, Cooperation, and Healthy Living, and Mr. Jes\u00fas Gual, Regional Secretary of Economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There, we enjoyed a roundtable discussion involving various organizations that already have the REVSR, where they shared experiences and we were able to learn and generate knowledge to improve this evaluation and recognition system. One of them was Mutua Levante, represented by its CEO, Elena Turri\u00f3n: "We are very proud to be the first company to obtain this certification. We had already done our homework; we were sustainable, but we didn't know it," explained the CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe're from the third sector; we already knew we were socially responsible, but we needed to organize and structure everything properly, and registration allowed us to do that,\u201d added Miguel \u00c1ngel Honrubia of the Fundaci\u00f3 Nova Feina. Yolanda Reig, general director of the Association for Research in the Ceramic Industries, and Rafael Reolid, head of sustainability at Pikolinos Intercontinental SA, also participated in the conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most informative moments of the day were the two presentations by Nuria Lloret and Mar\u00eda \u00c1ngeles Fern\u00e1ndez Izquierdo. The former, a specialist in Data Analytics, AI, Mixed Reality, Metaverse, and Digital Collaborative Systems, explained that sustainability goes far beyond the environmental sphere: \u201cIt's common to associate sustainability with environmental issues, and it's true that there are many problems with this, but there are four key points for addressing sustainability in organizations: ecological transformation, digital transformation, social and territorial cohesion, and gender equality.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, with the director of the Master's Degree in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at the Universitat Jaume I, we were able to attend a masterclass on all the information we must take into account when submitting an entity to the Registry of Socially Responsible Valencian Entities (REVSR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting concluded with a closing address by Mr. Jos\u00e9 Vicente Todol\u00ed, Director General of Economics at GVA, and a wonderful cocktail from Intos Hosteler\u00eda.
